Small quantities of HH type waste can arise in the municipal waste stream either deliberately or accidentally. As recycling activity increases, the concentration of hazardous waste in the residual waste stream will also increase. Waste Collection Authorities (WCAs) and Waste Disposal Authorities (WDAs) therefore need to be aware of the associated costs and the potential legal, health and safety and environmental concerns associated with the waste. |
